Nora Mahler (Rebecca DeMornay - "Risky Business", "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle") has found her dream life. With her two teenage children, Simon and Clea, who have inherited her love of horses, she runs the family ranch. Her husband, Neil (Keith Carradine - "Nashville", "Stones For Ibarra") has never been enamored with country life, but has always gone along with his wife's wishes, leaving their marriage marked by an uneasy peace. But their marriage has fallen into a rut. Then tragedy strikes. While their son Simon is out riding with his sister Clea, he falls from his horse and is killed. Nora's heartbreak blinds her to the fact that the others are hurting, too. Nurtured by love, they learn to face the future not as separate individuals - but as a real family once again.
